Like a lot of miniaturists I had my hobby to fall back on during Covid-19 lockdown earlier this year and achieved quite a bit. I decided to do another remodel of my Georgian by adding a basement level to the bottom which will house a kitchen and a scullery/laundry. Due to the move the house had to be emptied and is waiting to be furnished. I will do this as soon as I finish the basement.<br />
I have completed the interior of PP 1/4 scale Rose Cottage and have 2 more of these kits to do.<br />
I need another lockdown I think!<br />

Sorry, life got in the way! I didn't stop making and being passionate about miniatures so I have achieved a considerable amount. I'll try and publish them gradually in case anyone is interested lol. Most recently I have redecorated the entire exterior of my Georgian house and I must say I love it now! After years of not really liking it I bit the bullet and started repainting it. 4 weeks later and after 6 coats of paint on each of the horrible dark green windows and a new exterior colour this is the result.<br />

Last year I purchased my first quarter scale kit, a cottage from Petite Properties, called Rosebud Cottage. After much hesitation I had my first go at Paperclay and didn't find it too hard at all. It sat, undecorated, for months until a recent spell of very hot weather kept me indoors for several days, so I tackled the distressing and finishing of the exterior of the cottage. Distressing is also something that didnt come very easy to me, a person who loves neat, pristine lol. The instructions, diagrams and photos for the kit were great and I am very happy with this cute little cottage. Now to make the furniture for the inside, also from a book by Bea.Lindahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03276501893375584586noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2796314554432120502.post-66954857178479021282010-04-24T03:16:00.002-07:002010-04-24T03:24:07.335-07:00<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6h7lynH21A2-zsByW3JbBFpGQ9RAr3_hvK831AagANpCPgEEpvkBjQ47H3tnVq2472z5lI4H1op03uKU4oD3klGNRZPJ9FJ6C6e4hcZZTkF6WFnbeM4xMG9lXfqZAAuRLKnET_rdIqxZ6/s1600/Umbrella+shop+front.JPG"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6h7lynH21A2-zsByW3JbBFpGQ9RAr3_hvK831AagANpCPgEEpvkBjQ47H3tnVq2472z5lI4H1op03uKU4oD3klGNRZPJ9FJ6C6e4hcZZTkF6WFnbeM4xMG9lXfqZAAuRLKnET_rdIqxZ6/s320/Umbrella+shop+front.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5463646078356934226" border="0" /></a><br />Frontage of the Umbrella Shop. Totally made from scratch - could not source ready made windows or doors as I wanted them accurate replicas. Have to make full-length glass fronted display cabinets for all 3 internal walls next. The fun part will be to make all the different umbrellas, parasols and walking sticks for the cabinets.Lindahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03276501893375584586noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2796314554432120502.post-88699433679048674812010-04-24T03:16:00.001-07:002010-04-24T03:16:36.590-07:00<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzG9pRAN8u8Z-aMLKUcG42qa6r6wc9SN1S5ABwuxjmqfRBfxuo84SC4qji3X8bZircbLl08giOgp5RiOU7arH1zZrHeAFFZQIFmoCC5rRyx7US-SeeH8IZKb5hSTrUj2mAOxIWGoYbXfb9/s1600/Baby+House+Cabinet+decorated.JPG"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 247px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzG9pRAN8u8Z-aMLKUcG42qa6r6wc9SN1S5ABwuxjmqfRBfxuo84SC4qji3X8bZircbLl08giOgp5RiOU7arH1zZrHeAFFZQIFmoCC5rRyx7US-SeeH8IZKb5hSTrUj2mAOxIWGoYbXfb9/s320/Baby+House+Cabinet+decorated.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5463645829586747554" border="0" /></a><br />Decorated cabinet.Lindahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03276501893375584586noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2796314554432120502.post-64482508943750909002010-04-24T03:14:00.000-07:002010-04-24T03:15:55.218-07:00<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRy2ODmw7Hz_sto3zUuGJDwJDqYsyjDuwQowvcGMr3oCuj0ZqzLtfx_SNYbyd71CPK9dYu6LKC-4nEcYmqAjB_mVVAHXdU3DjMKF-hGl1AgFeP5c9qDFMFqtoxAZODZLkOgaUSk5fgHkpA/s1600/Baby+House+Cabinet+in+the+raw.JPG"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 252px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRy2ODmw7Hz_sto3zUuGJDwJDqYsyjDuwQowvcGMr3oCuj0ZqzLtfx_SNYbyd71CPK9dYu6LKC-4nEcYmqAjB_mVVAHXdU3DjMKF-hGl1AgFeP5c9qDFMFqtoxAZODZLkOgaUSk5fgHkpA/s320/Baby+House+Cabinet+in+the+raw.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5463645610184067842" border="0" /></a><br />Cabinet in the raw.Lindahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03276501893375584586noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2796314554432120502.post-22404917549408121732010-04-24T03:08:00.000-07:002010-04-24T03:29:30.671-07:00Thought it was about time I updated my blog with what I've been doing the last couple of months. I've been having a break from my Georgian House and a replica of The Old Umbrella Shop, a Victorian Umbrella-makers shop as I became interested in doing a Dutch Baby House Cabinet after several friends started one. Mine was a raw cabinet from Silly Sisters and so far I have done the outside in cream with decals and gold touches and painted the inside white, ready for the wall and floor papers. Next will be the 144th furniture kits which I know will be a real challenge!Lindahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03276501893375584586noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2796314554432120502.post-46989770232899604972010-02-05T02:59:00.000-08:002010-02-05T03:03:54.485-08:00Kitchen<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtCzZB2LnbxvP8ijNKqV96MHRNFVOHTSBbuzJAFRNCpYCBwkHlVusA-IgRXeZHq9IbtEqtY0evd1jz_-zQ3vT4QryhL5Q_4yg1AUnuBD7iD5mL2dElVK1FF-r-nXBMZ3ORSovXNapFfHMd/s1600-h/Kitchen+in+Linda%27s+Georgian.JPG"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 288px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtCzZB2LnbxvP8ijNKqV96MHRNFVOHTSBbuzJAFRNCpYCBwkHlVusA-IgRXeZHq9IbtEqtY0evd1jz_-zQ3vT4QryhL5Q_4yg1AUnuBD7iD5mL2dElVK1FF-r-nXBMZ3ORSovXNapFfHMd/s320/Kitchen+in+Linda%27s+Georgian.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5434713343035681298" border="0" /></a><br />Since Christmas I have completed the kitchen in my Georgian house. Still need to dress the bed one day. It was supposed to be a 4 poster canopy bed but oops the canopy wouldn't fit under the light fitting! So it will either stay as just a 4 poster or I may lower the canopy or even make it a half-tester. Still thinking on that one.Lindahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03276501893375584586noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2796314554432120502.post-4745192201341635952009-10-07T02:15:00.000-07:002009-10-07T02:19:01.997-07:00House at present<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbQIApSaRKybf7D_xPEBQxiYKZTdIiG187lzZaXc_cILUrusL9Hqf2UFUKFpsx1y9TFYvqlIyVBVc2eJlIQ5GMaoVRYaipBdVZFjsRZBE-ecpfKBryQQB3mU0C1FRJK7QKW-qMrBn40BVg/s1600-h/Linda's+House.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbQIApSaRKybf7D_xPEBQxiYKZTdIiG187lzZaXc_cILUrusL9Hqf2UFUKFpsx1y9TFYvqlIyVBVc2eJlIQ5GMaoVRYaipBdVZFjsRZBE-ecpfKBryQQB3mU0C1FRJK7QKW-qMrBn40BVg/s320/Linda's+House.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5389785043112250466" border="0" /></a><br />This is what the house now looks like on the outside.Lindahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03276501893375584586noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2796314554432120502.post-44559733903504888632009-08-30T00:47:00.000-07:002009-08-30T23:52:04.510-07:00<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_G1OVoAhJUDGToTX9q5J8JQsplS4VlWGjq96qcIvgF2bKBgptU1DfdWgRa4Mg8K3Di3bvZc0OOD5shSLlVNJrL77u_cYB-90aFL09VFwX5e4Q_M3mkuD3nsabqANPtYhjL0nObBUQj9XQ/s1600-h/Original+dolls+house.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 216px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_G1OVoAhJUDGToTX9q5J8JQsplS4VlWGjq96qcIvgF2bKBgptU1DfdWgRa4Mg8K3Di3bvZc0OOD5shSLlVNJrL77u_cYB-90aFL09VFwX5e4Q_M3mkuD3nsabqANPtYhjL0nObBUQj9XQ/s320/Original+dolls+house.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5376017040546410994" border="0" /></a><br /><span style="font-family:arial;font-size:85%;">Welcome to my first foray into blogging. I became interested in dolls houses and miniatures 15 years ago when I attended a Toys and Collectibles fair and saw some dolls houses fitted out with all these lovely little things. I fell in love with them and my wonderful hubby bought me one the next Christmas. After completing it fairly quickly I soon decided it wasnt big enough for all the things I wanted to put in it so hubby and I tackled some renovations and added an extra floor to the bottom of the house. This house is still not finished as I've learnt so much over the years I keep changing things. Here is a photo of the house in original condition.<br /></span>Lindahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03276501893375584586noreply@blogger.com0
